An establishment I have long been wanting to visit for awhile now due to the serving of wild boar. I could say I highly enjoyed the experience. I came in during brunch hour with a good friend and we shared a french toast and locus skillet with pulled wild boar. I also ordered a peach and banana smoothie on the side as a drink accompaniment. The skillet was a good blend of protein and greens making it feel “healthy” for what you are eating. The egg was cooked as requested (over-medium) with a nice golden yolk. The wild boar unsurprisingly is on the gamier ends of meats in general but mixing the egg and greens with one bit blends the gaminess of the wild boar meat into a rich and delectable unique taste completely masking the gamey taste of the meat. Although, the price is on the higher end for the quantity received. The highlight of our dining experience was the French toast. The D’Anjou pear had just the right amount of sweetness combined with the salty yet sweet flavour of the vanilla cream cheese drizzle to create a dish that was rich and luxurious to the palate. The candied walnuts also added a nice crunch and alternate texture to the soft interior of the French toast. The texture of the French toast I would describe as a whole wheat brioche, soft but having the slight grainy texture of whole wheat bread. Compared to French toasts with berry accompaniments, the D’Anjou pear created a sweetness which did not overpower the dish as strongly. Overall, the experience was very pleasant and I could see myself coming back to try their dinner service. The service was good without any fuss and the atmosphere was cozy and warm. The atmosphere in my opinion gives off the vibe of a good place to catch up with close friends or acquaintances and see how things are going in their lives. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try and opening up one’s palate to new experiences.

It is the best brunch I had in Vancouver. And both the manager and the staff were kind. He asked me if I was satisfied with the menu. The visuals of the food looked delicious as shown on the menu, and the taste was also excellent. The fruits were fresh and the furniture was very clean. I think I will go to this restaurant often.

I came here for Dine Out since the menu looked interesting. I was not expecting to be so pleasantly surprised. The portion along with quality was perfect. The mushroom cheesy bread pudding was specular - something I'd like to try myself at home. The drinks were fun. I had a great time here.

Going to Locus is like visiting an old friend. Fred will welcome you warmly, the ambiance is great, the music soothing and never too loud, and suddenly there is time, lots of it. Above all, the food is comforting, for your body and your soul. I have been multiple times, on my own or with different people. We were never disappointed with what was served, breakfast (the eggs, bacon and sausage) and brunch (the benedicts, beef, duck). While many of us have enjoyed the plentiful of the harvest bowl, we were not keen on the candied walnuts which gave it a sweetened finish. I have indulged in the lobster benedict at brunch time: go for it! For dinner, I always end up with any duck option available and am never disappointed. However, the fish and beef are quite tempting, and I was told good, as well. Fred did a small miracle for me: finding a table for my husband and I on a Dec. 31st for a late dinner even if we didn't have a reservation! That's miracle on Main Street for you!

This is an absolute neighborhood gem. The Brussels sprouts are divine, and every dish I’ve tried has been delicious. Their cocktails are made with fresh juices and rival any I’ve had in NYC bars. Plus they play a super hip soundtrack that adds to the atmosphere. Highly recommend!
